Epson SureColor P5000 Commercial Edition with SpectroProofer Wins 2017 Must See ‘Ems Award

Epson today announced its SureColor® P5000 Commercial Edition with SpectroProofer 17-inch desktop production printer is a 2017 Must See ‘Ems award winner in the “Color Management and Quality Control” category. The Must See ‘Ems awards represent the most significant advances spanning the graphic communications industry. Winners are selected by a committee of industry-leading experts based on innovation, ease of use, throughput, competitive advantage, and overall impact to the industry. The SureColor P5000 Commercial Edition with SpectroProofer is being honored at PRINT Expo, taking place Sept. 10-14 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill., and is on display in Epson’s booth, #831.

Designed to bring enhanced performance and reliability to the commercial and graphic design, flexographic, and proofing markets, the SureColor P5000 Commercial Edition with SpectroProofer touts a refined design featuring a 10-channel PrecisionCore® TFP® printhead that includes new ink-repellant surface coating, along with improved dust and static control for reduced nozzle clogging and maintenance, and supports printless nozzle checks for time, production, and resource efficiently. Leveraging the UltraChrome® HDX pigment ink set with Violet ink, it delivers output with an industry-best 99 percent PANTONE® PLUS FORMULA GUIDE solid-coated color matching.
The SpectroProofer high performance in-line spectrophotometer, developed jointly with X-Rite, quickly and easily automates profile creation, optimization, and verification tasks for simplified contract proofing. In addition, it will automate media calibrations and re-linearization leveraging third party proofing workflow software. Powered by an X-Rite ILS30EP, this offers the latest industry illuminate standards of M0, M1 and M2.
Offering versatile media handling capabilities, the SureColor P5000 Commercial Edition can auto-switch between the high-capacity front paper cassette and roll media feeder. The high-capacity cassette can hold up to 100 sheets of premium paper for high productivity printing on sheets from 8”x10” up to 17”x22.” In addition, it features a front feed straight path for delicate fine art sheet media, including poster board, up to 1.5mm thick. Auto-switching between roll and cassette sheet feeding allow both sources to be loaded at the same time.
